Proposition 4

Supervisor Barker and the Town Board passed a local law on June 28, 2017 to increase the Town Clerk Term from two to four years.  The Town Clerk is the Clerk to the Town Board and Supervisor Barker commented that the stability a longer term would bring would be advantageous to both the Board and Town Residents.  Other reasons to vote YES on Proposition 4 are:

  • Town Clerk position has a steep learning curve and requires significant, complex training.
  • The four-year term also gives the Clerk time to accomplish longer term goals and build on them.
  •  A four-year term is consistent with the majority of the Town Clerk terms in Monroe County.
