ABOUT SEAN

Legislator Delehanty was first appointed and sworn in to the Legislature in January 2014.  Prior to becoming a Legislator, Sean was a Fairport Village Trustee from 2011 until his appointment to the Legislature on January 14, 2014. He also served on the Perinton Bicentennial Committee and as a Trustee of the Perinton Historical Society.  In the Legislature, Sean serves as Chairman of the Ways & Means Committee and a member of both the Public Safety and Agenda/Charter Committees.  In addition to his legislative duties, Sean is the Chief of Staff at New York State Assemblyman Mark Johns’ office. Legislator Delehanty brings a lot of knowledge to the Monroe County government, being a former Intergenerational Outreach Manager at the Monroe County Youth Bureau and Office of the Aging.

EDUCATION:

Sean earned his Master’s Degree from St. John Fisher College, and his Bachelor’s Degree from Ithaca College. He is also a graduate of Fairport High School.

EMPLOYMENT:

Monroe County Legislator Sean Delehanty represents the 11th Legislative District, which includes the Village of Fairport, and a portion of the Town of Perinton.

COMMUNITY INVOLVEMENT:

Legislator Delehanty is an active member of many community groups, including the Perinton Historical Society, Crescent Trail Association, and a member of the Fairport High School Alumni Association.
